PM Imran to visit Sahiwal today

Prime Minister Imran Khan is scheduled to visit Sahiwal on Friday wherein he would launch public welfare and development projects. During the one-day visit, the premier would distribute checks among the beneficiaries under the Ehsas Programme in Sahiwal. He would also distribute checks among the beneficiaries under the Kamyab Jawan Programme and hand-over harvesting vehicles to the farmers PM Imran is also scheduled to address a public gathering in Sahiwal. On January 15, Prime Minister Imran Khan reached Lahore and met Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. During the meeting, the premier was apprised on various development projects and the overall situation of the province. During the day-long visit, a number of proposals were approved to expedite action against the land mafia across Punjab. PM Imran would also be briefed on agriculture marketing during the visit. The premier performed a ground-breaking ceremony of Sheikhupura-Gujranwala road – a project being completed at a cost of over Rs5 billion. The 43-kilometre road would be completed under a public-private partnership. Last year in December, PM Imran undertook a daylong visit to the industrial city of Sialkot, during which he inaugurated AirSial, the country’s third airline in the private sector, launched several development projects worth billions of rupees and attended a ceremony organised by the local businessmen. The same month the premier inaugurated the Institute of Cardiology and laid the foundation for the Hayatabad Sports Complex renovation project during his visit to Peshawar.
